Johanna Hamby and David LaPointe from Fort Ticonderoga brought the program "A Soldier's Life" to our fourth graders this week. The presentation taught students about the daily life and hardships of American soldiers during the Revolutionary War. Students could see the supplies, clothing, and food used by the soldiers.
Which grade will be the champion this year? Find out at Brains and Brawn on Friday, March 22. 🧠💪
Mrs. Irish’s third-grade class had a special visitor! Shawn Linendoll, a local musher, brought his sled and many other tools and materials he has used for dog sled racing. The students have been following the 2024 Iditarod race in Alaska, and each student has been tracking an individual musher in the race. Thank you to Mr. Linendoll for visiting Fort Ann.

First-grade students had the chance to dress up as their favorite book characters for the Dr. Suess-inspired “Read Across America” program. 📚
During our sixth career exploration day, our fourth graders learned from Nikki Harrison, Planetarian at the Northcountry Planetarium at SUNY Plattsburgh, and Tashina Scognamillo, R.T. R CT, lead technologist at the Rutland Regional Medical Center!
Mrs. Harrison shared what it was like to work at a planetarium and brought special glasses for the students to use during the solar eclipse in April. Mrs. Scognamillo taught students about X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds. They even got to examine some X-rays up close! Thank you to Ms. LaVine and Mr. Woodell-Freire for organizing this event! 🌎🩻
